Christian college of engineering and technology has organised a campus placement drive on 10 April 2024 for undergraduates of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering. The  Campus Drive provided a platform to our talented pool of graduates to showcase their skills and capabilities to esteemed companies seeking to recruit top-tier talent. The event serves as a bridge between academia and industry, facilitating meaningful connections and opening doors to promising career paths for our graduates.

We are immensely proud of our graduates for their outstanding performance during the Placement Drive. Their success is a testament to the quality of education and holistic development fostered at Christian College of Engineering and Technology Bhilai. Recent Innovations in Hydrogen Technology

Hosts a Day-Long Workshop on Hydrogen Technology

In a momentous stride towards sustainable energy solutions, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Departments in association with Institution’s Innovation Council(IIC) organized one day workshop on “Recent Innovations in Hydrogen Technology” on December 29, 2023.

Rev. Fr. Dr. P. S. Varghese, Executive Vice Chairman, CCET, Bhilai, presided over the function. He highlighted the institution’s commitment to fostering cutting-edge advancements.
The workshop, spearheaded by the Convener, Dr. R. H. Gajghat, Professor, and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and meticulously organized by Dr. Shailendra Verma, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, witnessed participation from a diverse audience comprising students, faculty, and research scholars.

The highlight of the workshop was an insightful session delivered by the esteemed Resource Person, Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Department at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Calicut. Dr. Sharma shared his expertise and provided valuable insights into the recent breakthroughs in hydrogen technology, captivating the audience with the potential impact on various industries.
The workshop not only served as a platform for knowledge exchange but also fostered networking and collaboration among participants. Attendees engaged in lively discussions, sharing ideas, and exploring potential avenues for future research and innovation in the hydrogen domain.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Gajghat expressed his gratitude to all the participants and emphasized the importance of staying at the forefront of technological advancements. Dr. Shilendra Verma, as the Organizing Secretary, extended his appreciation to the organizing committee and participants for their collective effort in making the event a resounding success.

क्रिस्चियन कॉलेज के दो छात्रों का चयन एशिया पैसिफिक युथ एक्सचेंज थाईलैंड के लिए

क्रिस्चियन कॉलेज के कंप्यूटर साइन्स में पढ़ रहे सातवे सेमेस्टर के छात्र जॉयस किस्पोट्टा एवं गौरव रेखावर का चयन एशिया पैसिफिक युथ एक्सचेंज प्रोग्राम 2017 के लिए हुआ है । यह प्रोग्राम थाईलैंड में 14 जनवरी से 27 जनवरी तक चलेगा जिसमे एशिया के अलग अलग देशों से चयनित युवा हिस्सा लेंगे । जॉयस पिता जेरोम किस्पोट्टा रेलवे कर्मचारी है ,गौरव पिता दिलीप रेखावर बैंक कर्मचारी है। गौरव और जॉयस को चयन प्रक्रिया से गुजरना पड़ा जिसमे इंटरव्यू देने के बाद थाईलैंड से निमंत्रण मिला । बतादें की विश्व की जाने माने संगठन जैसे यूनाइटेड नेशन्स, युनेस्को, यूनिसेफ ,एशिया डेवलपमेंट बैंक आदि द्वारा यह प्रोग्राम आयोजित कराया जाता है इन संगठनों से जुड़ पाना ही अपने आप में एक बहुत बड़ी उपलब्धि है । जॉयस किस्पोट्टा एवं गौरव रेखावार जो पिछले दो सालों से होम ऑटोमेशन, इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स जैसे प्रोजेक्ट्स पर काम कर रहे है साथ ही साथ कई प्रतियोगिताओ के विजेता राह चुके है , जॉयस ने एन पी टी एल से इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स एवं क्लाउड कंप्यूटिंग में सर्टिफिकेशन भी प्राप्त किया वहीं गौरव क्लीन वाटर एंड सैनिटेशन के फील्ड में अपने प्रोजेक्ट्स पर काम कर रहे हैं । दोनों छात्र राइज़िंग युथ फाउंडेशन नाम की संस्था से जुड़े हुए है ,जो कि क्रिस्चियन कॉलेज के ही एक छात्र द्वारा शुरू की गई । हम कामना करते है कि वें अपने अपने प्रोजेक्ट्स के साथ थाईलैंड में सराहनीय प्रदर्शन करेंगे और छत्तीसगढ़ का नाम ऊंचा करेंगे ।

Workshop on “Solar Energy Harvesting and Utilization for Sustainable Development” by Padmashri Dr. Mrs. Janak Palta McGilligan

A one day Workshop on “Solar Energy Harvesting and Utilization for Sustainable Development” was organized on 11th September 2018 at CCET, Bhilai as a part of the Coordinator Cell activity of Chattisgarh Council Of Science & Technology (CCOST) in CCET for 2018-19 and was sponsored by CCOST.

The Expert Speaker during the Workshop was  Padmashri Dr. Mrs. Janak Palta McGilligan , Director, Jimmy Mcgilligan Centre for Sustainable Development, Indore. 

Dr. Janak Palta McGilligan is an Indian Padma Shri recipient social worker and the founder-director of Jimmy McGilligan Centre For Sustainable Development, an Indore-based non governmental organisation working for sustainable community development. She is also a former founder-director of Barli Development Institute for Rural Women. She is a Global Advisor (Member of Advisory Board of Solar Cookers International (SCI, Sacramento) and Co-founder of Jaivik Setu in Indore.

The workshop was organized by Electrical Engineering Department in coordination with the R&D Cell of CCET. The workshop was aimed at providing an insight about the potential of solar energy, its advantages, synergy with environment and its applications as well as to develop entrepreneurship by encouraging students in participating in new and innovative product development programs related to solar energy.

The inaugural Ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest and Expert Speaker Padmashri  Dr. Mrs. Janak Palta McGilligan  and Shri Amitabh Sharma, Executive Engineer, CREDA as Special Guest. The Inaugural function began with the welcoming of the guests followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Dr, Dipali Soren, Principal, CCET in her welcome address highlighted upon the importance of sustainable energy and the need to switch over to harnessing the potential of Solar and other forms of renewable energy.

The Chief Guest, Padmashri Dr. Mrs. Janak Palta McGilligan in her opening remarks gave a glimpse of her own journey of life and her innovations for sustainable living.  During her subsequent sessions wherein she addressed   the participants of the workshop and the entire students of the college,  Dr. Janak Palta enlightened and mesmerized the audience with her varied experiences in life and her search for sustainable development by harnessing solar energy and encouraging solar cooking. Mr. Amitabh Sharma, Executive Engineer, CREDA gave an informative overview about the different projects   undertaken by CREDA in Chhattisgarh.  Dr. Sandhya Pillai, Coordinator, R&D Cell presented a report about the Coordinator Cell activities of  CCOST  in CCET.

The Workshop was attended by around 65 students from Electrical Engineering department and M.Tech. Nanotechnology  along with faculty members. The Workshop concluded with certificate distribution to the participants and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Payal Roy, Organising Secretary of the Workshop.

Presented Paper in the Symposium SNRI 4.0, Muscat

Christian College of Engineering and Technology Bhilai marks the presence in 4th National Student’s Symposiumorganized by University of Technology and Applied Science,Muscat. Final year Electrical engineering students Rovin’s Xess and Vedina Xaxa of Christian college of Engineering and Technology, Bhilai has presented research paper titled “Artificial Intelligence Enhancing the efficiency of Renewable Energy Sources “.in 4th National Student’s Symposiumorganized by University of Technology and Applied Science,Muscat on 11th and 12th October .The theme for symposium this year was “Industrial Revolution 4.0”. The Student National Symposium IR 4.0 provides a platform for the student community to present their research papers. The symposium has addressed various topics of fourth industrial revolution. The symposium organizers in collaboration with its stakeholders, empowers the 21st century students to collaboratively use their creative and innovative minds to think of any conceivable ways to optimize technological advancements and exploit the disruptive technologies in the IR4.0 era.

Paper presentation was carried out in online mode.The research work was supervised under the guidance of Mentor faculties from the Department of Electrical Engineering Ms. Richa Sahu, Mr. Ashish Dewangan,Mr. Akash Dewangan and Mr.Prashant Bawaney. The research highlighted how artificial intelligence can evaluate and develop a model for predicting the economic viability of renewable energy sources and can further increase the energy efficiency so that the utilization of renewable energy sources can be made to the maximum.

CCET’S Budding Entrepreneur

Institution’s Innovation Council of Christian College of Engineering Technology, Bhilai in association with Computer Science & Engineering Department, conducted a session with a rising entrepreneur Mr.Vijay Relwani. Honourable Executive vice chairman Father Dr.P.S Varghese and Principal Dr. Dipali Soren also spoke about the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in current scenario. DrArchana Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering Department stated about the Government of India, Ministry of Education’s, Innovation cell’s initiative to build a culture of innovation across all education institutes. In this event CCET’s final year student Mr.VijayRelwani motivated everyone with his inspirational story.He started from zero but now he is the owner of Relwani automobiles.During Covid his family’s economic condition became worse so he started working in an E rickshaw manufacturing company.The owner was very surprised to see that he had repaired the controller of E-rickshaw.From there he got an idea of creating a bike. He has participated in the well-known show Shark Tank season I and has got standing ovation from the judges for his idea. He started creating a bike prototype but he had to face many difficulties due to financial problems,but he faced it with intelligence like he asked one sculptor to make the body of the bike and also he used many parts from scrap shop.He had also participated in Smart India Hackathonorganized at GITAM University and was among the top 100 finalist. He has started incubationat Raipur which is approved by Government of India startup scheme. He also gave guidance on how to participate in shark tank and also invited students to be a part of his new initiative.

Organised Alumni Meet

Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Bhilai organized it’s  Alumni Meet at the College campus on 29th October, 2022 from 11 am to 5 pm.

The program started with lighting of lamp by all Dignitaries, followed by a welcome speech by Principal Dr. Dipali Soren. Honourable Executive Vice Chairman Rev. Fr. Dr. P.S Varghese addressed the Alumni. He exhorted the students to take career related guidance from  reputed Alumnis and reminded everyone to serve the society in their given capabilities and capacities. “Man making Education, is a great Ancient Indian concept, one should give back to the society, else he or she will be a looter.”

Mr.Kashish Shukla, President of Alumni Association in his presidential address briefed about the activities of CCET alumni association that was carried out  last year. He highlighted that  a strong Alumni is the backbone of any college. The  felicitation address was delivered by Secretary, Mr. Mushtaq Alam

The program was adorned by cultural  presentations by students Ashish Saini,Arin Malaki ,Jailseen Sahota and Sultana Khatun. Alumni members also shared their memories with  the audience.

Further, business session was conducted as a post lunch program. An interaction of the current batches and  Alumni members were organized which was worth while. It has helped the students to know about the life outside the four walls of the college.

During the interactive session, Alumnus gave beneficial and valuable advices to the current batch students. They also answered their queries.

Future plans were discussed and drafted for the better execution for the welfare of student community in which decision was made to create meritorious award for toppers and scholarships for financially weaker students from the next academic year.

All the Alumni members were taken for campus tour to reminisce their old days. The program concluded with a Vote of thanks by Ms.Lincy Mendonza, Asst.Prof,CSE and Staff Alumni coordinator. There after group photos were taken. The overall program was coordinated and conducted under the supervision of Staff Alumni Coordinators Ms.Lincy Mendonza and Ms. Richa Sahu.
