The Electrical Engineering is a branch of science that deals with energy and its useful transformation in the nation building. Nowadays, most everything we use in our daily lives has a power source and a chip and implements some sophisticated communication protocol and data/signal processing algorithm.
Most of the Critical issues in the present world and its cutting edge research lives in Electrical Engineering. The Department of Electrical Engineering has been playing a vital role in producing highly motivated Engineers of highest calibre since its inception in the year 1998. Our strong, highly motivated core faculty member every day along with our students define a new direction for electrical engineering by developing high end research activities to address some of the critical issues faced by the world these days. Our major thrust areas includes: Power System Analysis, Energy System, High Voltage Engineering, Nano Engineering.

Vision

Mission
M1. To produce recognized industry-ready professionals in Electrical Engineering, through educational program incorporating laboratory based teaching-learning process.
M2. To enhance knowledge in Electrical Engineering, through research for sustainable Development of the society and the nation as a whole.
M3. To promote social, environmental and technological responsiveness related to electric power through dissemination of knowledge.
Short Term Objectives
- To build a sound foundation of electrical engineering subjects.
- Working out major projects for the final year students which are useful to meet the objectives of the state-of-art in electrical machines, power systems and power electronics. Certain projects are taken in consultation with electrical engineering industries around Bhilai and Raipur ,major industry like BSP, electricity board (CSEB), wind power extraction companies, thermal & hydro power plants etc .
- To develop and enrich faculty and staff of the highest caliber.
- Produce students who shall be able to effectively stand the present day requirement of electrical engineering subjects.
Long Term Objectives
- Extend testing and consultancy facilities.
- To develop R & D sections in the respective course curriculum such as power system, control theory & applications, electrical machine & drive, power electronics & application, microprocessor applications in electrical engineering.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO1. To develop skills and proficiency in core areas of Electrical and related multidisciplinary engineering fundamentals.
PEO2. To educate students to have in-depth knowledge through laboratory-based teaching- learning process in professional areas of Electrical Engineering.
PEO3. To motivate the students to become successful practitioners in Electrical industries and/or to be ready for entrepreneurship keeping in view of the global and national status of technology.
PEO4. To promote professionals with quality of leadership, values, and social commitment towards environment friendly utilization of electrical energy.
Program Specific Outcomes (PSO)
PSO-1: Fundamental knowledge of mathematics, basic sciences and computation in problems related to electrical engineering.
PSO-2: Knowledge of electrical machines, power electronics and control systems in real-life situations in industries
PSO3: Knowledge of generation, efficient transmission and distribution of electric power with special reference to non-conventional and renewable energy resources.
