With Joy and Light Christian College Celebrates Its 20TH Annual Day Symphonia-19

On April 11, 2019, the scent of joy and togetherness was palpable in Kailashnagar, Bhilai as Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) celebrated its 20th Annual day popularly known as SYMPHONIA-2019. The annual function started with lighting of lamp ceremony in the presence of the Chief Guest, H. G. Bishop Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius, Metropolitan of Calcutta Diocese and Chairman of CCET, Bhilai, Fr Geevarghese Ramban, Vice President of St Thomas Mission, Fr George C Varughese, EVC, CCET, Fr Jose K Varghese, Former EVC of CCET and Principal of MGM Model School, Raipur, Fr Kurien John, Principal, MPS, Bhilai, Dr Dipali Soren, Principal, CCET, Mr Amit Sarda, Convener, Mr B Sridhar, Student Councillor of CCET, Mr Vishal Bhagat, Vice President of Student Council, Head of Departments, Media Persons, parents and students. In her welcome speech the Principal of CCET, Dr Dipali Soren invited the gathering to share the colours of joy and to enjoy the festivities. She presented the annual report of the college and congratulated all the students for bringing laurels to its name. She informed that CCET is the only private technical college in Chhattisgarh which publishes a national journal (JSEE:SIF-4.282). She informed the gathering about NBA Accreditation of Mechanical Engineering dept and congratulated them for the same. The Executive Vice Chairman of CCET, Fr George C Varughese motivated the young technocrats to bring kudos not only for oneself but for our mother college as well by having an inquisitive mind. He urged the gathering to cultivate discipline and attitude to bring new ideas for spreading light and joy in the world. Mr Sridhar Burla gave the report of student council. He introduced the current members of student council appointed on merit basis. Mr Vishal Bhagat in his speech said that CCET is a pioneer in providing morally and ethically sound technical education to the masses. He expressed his gratitude to student council members, professor Incharge, convener, faculties and CCET management for grand success of Symphonia-2019. The Chairman of CCET, H. G. Bishop Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius in his presidential address said that every year in this annual function the faculties, technical staff, support staff and students work in a symphony for its success thus justifying its name Symphonia. He said that the feeling of togetherness is entrenched in CCET family which helps impart ethical education with technological temperament in students, making it one of the best institutes in Chhattisgarh.

On this occasion the annual magazine of CCET ‘Footprint-2019’ was unveiled. In recognition of the achievements and skills of CCETians, various scholarships, academic awards, trophies and cash prizes were awarded by the dignitaries to the winners and runner-ups of a plethora of exciting events like technical quiz, food fusion, crazy games, photo battle competition, maze runner, roborace, ps2, arm wrestling, wall art, mehendi and much more organized by Technoclub, sports club, cultural club and engineering associations of all the branches. Thereafter the Peter Thomas Award for best all-rounder was awarded to Mr Francis Narange (CSE, 8th Sem). Dr R N Dash Endowment Cup for overall topper of 1st and 2nd semester was won by Mr Aswani Kumar Sharma and Ms Garima Jain. Overall Champions in sports were Mr Honey Choudhary (CSE, 8th Sem) and Ms Sunaina sharma (CSE, 8th sem). The Overall champions in cultural were Mr Edward Masih (CSE, 8th Sem) and Ms Sunaina sharma (CSE, 8th sem). The gathering was brimming with zeal and ardor when the students of CCET presented fantastically crafted and masterfully executed traditional and modern songs and dance programs. The Convener of Symphonia-2019, Mr Amit Sarda, Asst Prof, Mechanical Dept proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mrs Payal Roy, Asst Professor, Electrical dept was the Co-convener and Dr Sandhya Pillai, Head of Physics dept. and Coordinator of R & D Cell was the anchor of Symphonia-2019.
