INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO 10MW HYDRO POWER GENERATION GANGREL, DHAMTARI (C.G.)

Since 1998, the Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Bhilai has been blending academic excellence with industrial knowledge . In this sequence the students of Electrical Engineering Department of Christian College visited Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Ltd (CSPGCL) Hydro Power plant Gangrel on 29st  August 2017. The main objective behind this industrial tour was to make students aware about the Power system networks, Generation and transmission equipments. On 29th August 2017 students of 7th Semester Electrical dept. visited the 10 MW Hydro Power Generation located at Gangrel Dhamtari along with, ,Mr. Muna Biswal (Asst.  Prof.),Mrs. Payal Roy (Asst. Prof.) Electrical Dept. . Hydro Power Generation Gangrel has 10 MW capacity and is responsible for supplying electricity to nearby state grids. Mr M. Dani, Assistant engineer, CSEB showed the four units of plants ,Turbine  and Generator working section, and Relay section to the students. While guiding the tour of the control room, he said that any fault at any part of the substation will be indicated by a buzzer- alarm in the control room. The students of Electrical dept. were grateful to the CSPGCL and CCET management including Executive Vice Chairman, Fr. Jose k Varghese and the Principal, Dr Dipali Soren, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Kumawat, HOD of Electrical Department and faculty co-coordinators for organizing and making the trip memorable. The EVC, Fr Jose K Varghese and Principal, Dr Dipali Soren extended their well wishes to the students and conveyed their support for any such future endeavor.
