INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO 400 kV SUBSTATION KHEDAMARA, BHILAI
Since 1998, the Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Bhilai has been blending academic excellence with industrial knowhow. In this sequence the students of Electrical Engineering Department of Christian College visited Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company Ltd (CSPTCL) sub-stations on 29th August 2017. The main objective behind this industrial tour was to make students aware about the Power system networks, substation and transmission equipments. On 29th August 2017students of 3rdSemester Electrical dept. visited the 400 kV Substation located at Khedamara Bhilai along with, Mr Pramod Kumar Baghmar , Assistant Professor, Mrs saumya singh , Assistant Professor and Dr. M. K. Nigam Asso. Prof from Electrical Dept. . Khedamara Substation has 400 kV capacity and is responsible for supplying electricity to nearby state grids. Mr Harish Dewangan, Assistant engineer, CSEB showed the relay working section and control section to the students. While guiding the tour of the control room, he said that any fault at any part of the substation will be indicated by a buzzer- alarm in the control room. The students of Electrical dept. were grateful to the CSPTCL and CCET management including Executive Vice Chairman, Fr. Jose k Varghese and the Principal, Dr Dipali Soren, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Kumawat, HOD of Electrical Department and faculty co-coordinators for organizing and making the trip memorable. The EVC, Fr Jose K Varghese and Principal, Dr Dipali Soren extended their well wishes to the students and conveyed their support for any such future endeavor.
