Students of CCET Visit Jaisaval-Neco Industries Ltd., Raipur

Since 1998, Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Bhilai has worked tirelessly in Chhattisgarh to reduce the glaring divide between academic curriculum and industrial standards. In this sequence the students of 6th Semester, Mechanical engineering department of CCET visited “Jayasval-Neco Industries Ltd. (Steel Plant Division), Siltara Growth Centre, Raipur”. Neco Industries limited is a well known and one of the leading plants of central India, specially admired for its alloy products like metal wire, plates, finished bar products etc. The Industrial Visit for sixth semester Mechanical Engineering students started with a brief session of basic plant management and operations by Mr. Girija Shankar, Senior HR. his valuable insights into the day to day operations of the plant added immensely to the knowledge pool of the future technocrats. Later the plant visit was taken over by the Superior Technical Team of Neco Industries who discussed about the life, culture and works experience in the Industry. The Senior Technical team also guided the students to develop their personalities and the qualities in accordance with future industrial needs. They also said that a quality engineer can sustain the rigors of the job, due to innovative ideas which in long run benefits not only the industry but the society as a whole. Students thoroughly enjoyed the visit and understood nature of the work due to diligent staff, who minutely explained the working procedure of the machines and equipments in the 12 MW power plant including turbines. The faculty coordinators of the visit were Mr Amit Singh Dhakad, Asst Prof, Mechanical Dept and Mr Jitendra Sahu, Asst Prof, Mechanical Dept. The Executive Vice Chairman of CCET, Fr Jose K Varghese and the Principal, Dr Dipali Soren extended their well wishes to the students and congratulated Mechanical dept. for successful completion of the Industrial tour.
